Ricky Williams celebrated his 65th birthday at Livy O’s in Brandon. If you were not invited, don’t be insulted, it was a surprise and Ricky didn’t have a clue.

Ricky’s career and life has not been perfect or easy but he has always been exceptionally smart and a first class guy. Ricky attended Grinnell College in Iowa on an academic scholarship and graduated with his Bachelors  degree. He received his Juris Doctorate from The University of Florida Gainesville College of law. He has always been the minority dealing with the racial pressures that young Black men are subjected to. However Ricky did not let that discourage him, instead he always remembered that word he learned in Bible school “temperance.’

Ricky was the first African American Assistant State Attorney in Volusia County. Ricky relocated to Tampa in 1983 as the Assistant District Attorney under E.J. Salcines, thanks to influence of civil rights activist and living legend Attorney Delano Stewart.

Through trials and tribulations Ricky has stood strong, endured and maintained loving relationships with his 3 handsome sons and his beautiful daughter.  It was shared by Ricky’s birthday guests that Ricky has proven through the years to be a loving strong headed son, an understanding go to dad and a wonderful fun friend through thick and thin.

When I began my radio career back in 1993 selling advertising for 1380 the Touch and the Tom Joyner Morning Show, Attorney Ricky Williams was in his early 40’s and his law practice was thriving.  Tall handsome and smooth as ice cream, Ricky recognized opportunities and would not hesitate to jump on them. He became my go to attorney when I needed assistance to get new advertisers on the air.   If the George Edgecomb Bar association needed advertisement for an event or someone was short on advertising dollars but had a great idea, Ricky Williams was the man to make it happen. He would pay a portion of the ad and I would tag him in the commercial as the advertising sponsor. I appreciated him then and I appreciate him even more now as a regular advertiser with my personal businesses N-Touch News and N-Touch Radio.

His new career Call Ricky Ask Ricky, is a lawyer referral service and he is once again becoming a household name.  Ricky has built enough strong relationships with great attorneys through the years to be able to direct you where you need to be. So if you have a problem Call Ricky Ask Ricky (813) 248-6300
