Leaving a Legacy

Leaving a Legacy FS Dezigns

We all have dreams of what our retirement will be like.  Most of us say we are just going to play golf or sit around and do nothing but all that soon grows old.  Others say they are going to travel and that’s good unless your retirement check only covers your monthly expenses and a few nights out on the town. Contrary to what I thought I would be doing, I have found myself on a mission.

My mission is to build a legacy from a dream I had in 1996 when the newspaper was born. Thus you can find me everyday at 5508 working on our radio station, our website and the newspaper. I am committed to building a media conglomerate and I must admit, it is a labor of love.

I don’t want to leave this earth without leaving my children and grandchildren some form of generational wealth.  Since the age of 18, I worked long hours for the Postal Service; the night shift, evening shift, some weekends and some holidays, but that didn’t make me rich nor wealthy. I have concluded this second half of my adult life, I will work for myself just as hard as I’ve worked for the government to get my family to the next level. So most days, I am the first to arrive and the last to leave. Now that can be a problem in itself, because my wife, Tampa Bay Tammy, believes I have always worked too much. Old habits are hard to break. She is always saying, “You don’t stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing. So let’s go play!” Of course we do not play enough in her opinion. She reminds me often it’s finally our time and that I need to slow down, but the truth is, I can’t stop, won’t stop until I get to the top! I’m kind of like Zig Ziglar where he says “See You At The Top”, because that is where you will find me in a few years. Besides, I have to be at the top if I am going to benefit from The Republicans recent Tax Increase on the middle class.

Suffice it to say that working out at THAP’s 5508 50th Street, I am surrounded by young entrepreneurs that see the glass as half full and they inspire me to continue building our brand.  Phillip Scott, A young entrepreneur that does Black On Black Rhyme @ 5508 has a nice neo soul following and Michelle of Sole’ has a very nice braiding and weave shop at 5508. So come visit us at 5508 N 50th Street to see what we do and check out my life after retirement.
