WHAT: Moffitt Cancer Center is hosting its 12th-annual Moffitt Day at the Florida State Capitol on Tuesday, Feb. 7. The day of advocacy recognizes the need for continued legislative support to eradicate Florida’s second leading cause of death – cancer.
More than 50 Speak Out for Moffitt advocates, including patients, caregivers and Moffitt team members, will travel to Tallahassee for the event. Advocates will meet with lawmakers and share Moffitt’s mission to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer and ask for continued state support for the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida.
WHEN: Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 5:30 a.m. – More than 50 volunteers will board a bus and travel to Tallahassee to meet with lawmakers, share why Moffitt is important to them and ask for continued state support for the cancer center.
