The county of Fulton Georgia does a really great thing in awarding its employees under the program F.O.C.U.S. Every quarter employees are awarded on job performance. Tampa native Carole Sykes won both the 4th quarter award and the End of Year Award 2016 under the program. Carole is a Florida A&M University graduate and daughter of Joe and Francis Sykes, power couples and socialites in the Tampa Bay Area. She is the Public Affairs Manager for Fulton County Arts & Culture in Atlanta Georgia.
Carole promotes the events and efforts of the Department of Arts & Culture. Her supervisor credited her marketing work on their behalf for increasing public awareness of the department's activities. They also cited Ms. Sykes' efforts as being directly responsible for the agency being able to exceed its strategic goal of customer satisfaction to a nearly perfect 98 percent approval rating.
Carole worked hard to establish important relationships with residents, stakeholders and elected officials, which have been instrumental in expanding the applicant pool by 20 percent and patron attendance at events to 5,000 annually. This is a true testament to her determination to provide the best customer service possible to our residents and visitors.
My wife Tampa Bay Tammy and I have been knowing Carole for almost three decades as she was the very first baby sitter of our four children when we moved to Tampa from Memphis. Not only did Carole baby sit our children, but so did both her two sisters, Josette and Stephanie. We are far more blessed knowing the Sykes family as they helped us transition into life in Tampa. Carole's smile and gentleness then has grown into professionalism and leadership now. We applaud you Carole. Thanks for all your help. Congratulations on winning your award!
