The National Association of Black Women In Construction, NABWIC, sponsored a summer camp for kids promoting the construction industry to budding talent.  The kids, ages 10 to 18,  focused on ten days of intense training learning basic principles of architect and design. Additionally they learned how to create floor plans, site plans and elevation views.

Engineer Neville Lee and Robyn Donaldson taught the students during the 40 hour segment. A well balanced delicious lunch was sponsored and catered by Archie’s Barbecue & Catering.  At the end of their summer camp session the students were awarded with first prize gifts, including a laptop, book bag and other school supplies by the many sponsors that helped to make the Summer Camp an amazing experience.  Major sponsors included, Beck, Hillsborough County Public Schools and the NAACP.

The kids formed groups and named them, Flipper D's Inc, Lyon Builders, ZK Inc, and Young Designers.  The winning group was Young Designers!  They won an additional $500 including the laptop, backpack, school supplies and other items.  Congratulations to the winners!
